CWE and Selection Process for Nationalised Banks

C. Main Eligibility Criteria

i) Age

As on the given date (generally, on the 1st day of the month of the advertisement of the exam):
  • For CWE- PO/MT: Minimum 20 Years and Maximum 30 Years are only eligible to apply. For example, if the prescribed date for age is 01.05.2015, candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.05.1985 and not later than 01.05.1995 (both days inclusive).
  • For CWE- Clerical: Minimum 20 Years and Maximum 28 Years. For example, if the prescribed date for age is 01.10.2015, candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.10.1987 and not later than 01.10.1995 (both days inclusive).

Relaxation of Upper age limit for both CWE- PO/MT and CWE- Clerical
  • Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • Persons with Disabilities: 10 years
  • SC/ST 5 years

ii) Qualification

For CWE - Clerical:
  • Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
  • Candidates should preferably know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply.

For CWE - PO:
  • Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
